Terms of Service

Last updated: July 8, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Parent Pact, LLC ("ParentPact," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Please read them carefully.

ParentPact is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Our records, exports, and features are tools to help you communicate and document. Whether any record is admissible or useful in a legal proceeding is up to the court and your attorney.

1. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use ParentPact. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

2. The service

ParentPact provides tools for separated and co-parenting families, including messaging with a tone checker, a shared calendar, expense and reimbursement tracking, voice calling, and record exports. We may add, change, or remove features over time. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

3. Immutable records

ParentPact is designed to be a reliable record. Messages you send cannot be edited after a short grace period and cannot be deleted — by you or by your co-parent. Read receipts cannot be disabled. By using the app, you understand and accept that your communications are permanent within the service. Do not send anything you are not prepared to have on the record.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use ParentPact to:

ParentPact is a communication and documentation tool, not an emergency service. If someone is in danger, contact your local emergency number.

5. Calls & recording consent

Calls are recorded only when all participants explicitly consent on that call. Laws on call recording vary and some require all-party consent. You are solely responsible for complying with the recording laws that apply to you. If you do not consent, do not participate in a recorded call.

6. Subscriptions & billing

ParentPact is priced per family, not per person: one parent subscribes, and both parents in the family receive full access. Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to their terms. Payment is charged to your app-store account, and subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You manage or cancel your subscription in your app-store account settings; refunds are handled under the applicable app store's policies. If a subscription lapses, access to paid features may be limited, but your existing records remain part of the account.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you create in ParentPact. You grant us the limited license needed to host, process, back up, and display that content to operate the service — including running the tone checker and generating exports, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of your messages, records, or files, and we do not sell them.

8. No legal advice

ParentPact does not provide legal, medical, financial, or therapeutic advice. Features such as exports, tone suggestions, and record-keeping are informational tools. Nothing in the app is a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. Any decision about custody, court filings, or legal strategy is yours and your attorney's.

9. Termination

You may stop using ParentPact and close your account at any time; we recommend exporting your records first. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, if required by law, or if necessary to protect users or the service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as content licenses for records that remain part of a co-parent's account, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will survive.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will meet your requirements, be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any record will achieve a particular legal outcome.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ParentPact and its owners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves or as laws change. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where your local consumer-protection laws provide otherwise. The app stores through which you subscribe may impose their own additional terms.
