Common questions

Can I delete a message I sent?

No. Messages in ParentPact are permanent by design — that's what makes the record trustworthy if it's ever needed by an attorney or a court. You can fix a typo within 5 minutes of sending, and the edit is recorded. After that, the message is locked.

Why can't I turn off read receipts?

Read receipts are mandatory. A shared record is only useful if both parents can see what was delivered and when, so this can't be disabled.

The tone checker blocked my message. Why?

Before anything sends, ParentPact checks the wording. Most messages pass. Some get a gentle suggestion to rephrase, and a small number containing abusive language or threats are blocked outright. If you believe a message was blocked in error, email us the details and we'll look at it.

How does pricing work?

Pricing is per family, not per person. One parent subscribes and both parents get full access — you'll never be asked to pay twice for the same family.

How do I invite my co-parent?

Open the More tab and choose Invite Co-Parent. They'll get an email invitation; once they accept, you share the same family record. You can see pending invitations and revoke them from the same screen.

How do I export my records?

Go to More → Export Records. You can export messages, finances, or call logs as a timestamped, watermarked PDF or CSV. Download links stay valid for 7 days.

Are calls recorded?

Only when every participant explicitly consents on that specific call, and we log that consent. Recording laws vary by state — if you don't consent, don't proceed with a recorded call.

How do I delete my account or get a copy of my data?

Email hello@parentpact.app from your account address and tell us what you need. Note that deleting your account does not delete the shared family record your co-parent also relies on — we'll explain exactly what is removed before we do anything.

Reporting a bug or a safety concern

Email us with as much detail as you can. For anything involving immediate danger to a child or an adult, contact your local emergency services first — ParentPact is not a monitoring or emergency service.
